Adrianna "Ada" Rozeboom

DOON, IOWA ~ Adrianna “Ada” Rozeboom, 78, of Doon, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Whispering Heights in Rock Valley, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Doon United Reformed Church in Doon, Iowa, with Rev. Bartel Elshout officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery at Doon. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17th at the Doon United Reformed Church. The Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com. Adrianna “Ada” was born February 18, 1940 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of George and Regina (De Joode) Van Den Top. She graduated from the Rock Valley High School. Ada worked as a telephone operator prior to her marriage to Henry Rozeboom on December 5, 1958. Together they made their home in Doon, Iowa, where they raised their five children. After her children were grown up, Ada worked at the Doon Post Office.

She was a member of the Heritage Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa and the Doon American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing, embroidering, and crocheting. Ada loved to read. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very important to her, as well as caring for her family.

Ada is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alice (Evertt) Ahlers and Joan (George) Lems; and Henry’s family, Gertrude Rozeboom, Esther Rozeboom, Nellie Rozeboom, Clazina and Marv Rus, Leonard and Kathy Rozeboom, Gerrit and Marie Rozeboom, Liz and Neal Boluyt, and Tony and Sue Rozeboom.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, George and Regina; and Henry’s family, Gertrude and Paul Schelling, Edna Schelling, Teunis Rozeboom, Dick Rozeboom, Bill and Jeanette Rozeboom, Cozyn Rozeboom, and Judy Rozeboom.
