Alice Marion Halma was born October 9, 1928, at her parent’s home near Inwood, Iowa. She was the daughter of Herman and Marie (Henningsen Meyer) Rumohr whose roots came from Denmark and Germany. Alice went to country school and later Inwood High School where she graduated with 15 in the Class of 1946. While growing up on the farm, Alice helped with cooking, cleaning, sewing, and feeding farm animals.

The couple made their home in Inwood and were married for over 65 years until Charles passed away on August 23, 2013. Alice later moved to Fellowship Village of Inwood.

She was also a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary and supported veterans by selling poppies and volunteering for many years.

Alice made many dishcloths, sweaters, afghans, baby blankets, and cross-stich projects to frame. She sold greeting cards to friends and family. Alice will be remembered for her dedication, quiet strength, and love for others.
