Anna Otten

ALCESTER, SOUTH DAKOTA – Anna Otten, 104, of Alcester, South Dakota passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Alcester Care and Rehab Center in Alcester.

   Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, Iowa with Dr. Edward Peterson, a nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Alcester, South Dakota.

   Anna Otten was born June 16, 1916 in Scherperzeel, Netherlands, to parents Dirk and Grace (Nab) Otten. She came to America at the age of 7 with her parents to reside in the Canton, South Dakota area. Anna had always lived with her parents until their death, after which she lived with other relatives in the Hudson, Spink, Alcester, and Akron areas. She entered Oakhill Assisted Living in Hawarden in June 2015. In May of 2017 Anna entered the Alcester Care and Rehab Center.

   Anna is survived by many nephews and nieces and other family members.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Gilbert, Dave, John, Mike, and Dick; and four sisters, Wilma, Henrietta, Bertha, and Cornelia.
