HAWARDEN, IOWA ~ Ardis Marie Huebner, 83, of Hawarden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Akron Care Center in Akron, Iowa.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden with Rev. Dr. Joshua Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. Ardis Marie Cain was born July 6, 1942, on a farm north of Ireton, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Hilda (Treiber) Cain. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton. Ardis was the youngest of two brothers and one sister. She attended country school northeast of Hawarden, Iowa and later attended West Sioux, as the first graduating class of 1960.
Ardis married Dallas Huebner on November 24, 1962. In November of this year, they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Early on, Ardis was a beautician and had her own shop. She later became a stay-at-home mom after her children were born. Throughout the years, she found joy being a part of her children and grandchildren’s activities. She also loved spending time having conversations with numerous friends.
Ardis was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden. She served on the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School, was a member of LWML, and served in the kitchen for many funerals over the years.
Ardis shared a life with her loving husband, Dallas, of 63 years. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Donald (Kim) Huebner of Armour, South Dakota and David (Amy) Huebner of Hawarden. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Alicia (Brandon) Dale of Midland, South Dakota, Zachary Huebner of Watertown, South Dakota and Levi and Luke Huebner of Hawarden; a great-grandson, Gunnar Dale; three sisters-in-law, Delores (Thomas) Bertram, Deborah (James) Miller, and Barbara Cain; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Debbie) Johnson.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Erlyn Cain and wife Shirley and Kenneth Cain; sister, Shirley Hillrichs and husband Robert; three sisters-in-law, Delphine Farrell and husband James, Dawn Adams and husband Richard, and Dixie Johnson; and nephew, Randy Hillrichs.
