Barb, daughter of Raymond and Mary (Barr) Pryor, was born January 28, 1934, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Barbara attended school at Hayes Township School in Storm Lake.

Barb was united in marriage to Hale D. Pember on November 27, 1957, at Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley, Iowa. Barb met Hale while both were employed at McWilliams Drug in Cherokee, Iowa, Barb as a clerk and Hale as a pharmacist. Prior to meeting Hale, Barb was united in marriage to Wayne Buck in Anthon, Iowa and they were blessed with one daughter, Jacqueline Buck. Barb and Hale were blessed with three more children, Ramona, Deborah, and Paul. Barb and Hale moved from Cherokee to Rock Valley, Iowa in 1958. Hale and Barb took over Pember Drug, the family business, and spent the rest of their lives working and living in Rock Valley raising their children. Barb and Hale thoroughly enjoyed living in the Rock Valley community.

Barb was a member of Pioneer United Methodist Church. Barb was a hard worker. When she was not busy with her family or working at the drug store, she found joy volunteering within the community with various organizations including the library, church and school. Barb and Hale also enjoyed attending all activities in which their children were involved including many high school sporting events.

Barb enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, and playing any kind of card games. She was part of a golf and bowling league and a bridge club for many years. Although Barb and Hale traveled very little, she always looked forward to a few small trips.

Barb is survived by three children, Ramona (Joseph) Baldeck of Worley, Idaho; Deborah (Jeff) Finnegan of Sioux Falls and their children Maria and Anna; and Paul (Miranda) Pember of Rock Valley and their children Logan and Riley Ann.
