Bernadine Danielson

HAWARDEN, IOWA ~ Bernadine Danielson, 83, of Hawarden, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Visitation with the family will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden with Rev. Dr. Joshua Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com. Bernadine Danielson was born September 21, 1942, in Hawarden, Iowa, the youngest of eight children born to Frederick Claus Beck and Jennie (Timmer) Beck. She was raised in Hawarden and attended Hawarden and West Sioux School.

On July 13, 1963, she married Robert “Tony” Danielson at Trinity Lutheran Church. They resided in Hawarden where Bernadine was employed at the Hawarden Public Library as an assistant librarian for 16 plus years. In 1994, she began working at Coilcraft, Inc. in the shipping department. She was there 13 ½ years. Upon retirement, she returned to the Public Library on a part time basis.

Bernadine was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also active in 4-H and as a volunteer in the West Sioux School.

Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Renee Danielson of Le Mars, Iowa, Stacie (Ryan) Groetken of Le Mars, and Clark (Lisa) Danielson of Hawarden; and two beautiful, cherished granddaughters, Meghan and Mia Danielson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, George, Bill, Jay, Fritz, and Jim; 2 sisters, Junne and Ella; and her husband, Robert on January 24, 2022.
