Hawarden, Iowa~ David Carroll Winterfeld, 70, of Hawarden, Iowa passed away at his home on Monday, August 31, 2026. A private graveside service will be held at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family.

David C. Winterfeld, was born on March 11, 1956, in Hawarden, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm northwest of Ireton, Iowa and graduated from West Sioux High School in 1974. David served honorably in the US Navy and the Naval Reserves from 1975 to 1981.

David is survived by his siblings, sister, Gayle (Randy) Webert, of Yankton, South Dakota; a brother, Michael (Rebecca) Winterfeld, of Yankton, South Dakota; and a brother, Daniel Winterfeld, of Jackson, Minnesota. Additionally, David is survived by a niece, Cami (Rick) Hansen, nephew, Ryan (Joyce) Barents, and niece, Erina Winterfeld.
