Delwin L. Chavis was born February 9, 1971 to Donald and Sharon Chavis in Beaufort, South Carolina. Even though Delwin was from the south, raised throughout the United States, he showed himself as a southern gentleman.

Delwin was blessed at a very young age, he went beyond the magnitude of an ordinary man. To some he was known as a modern day outlaw, the ultimate handyman. “Giving up was not a reason for him, he would always figure out a solution with his vast knowledge.”

He learned the most from his dad. He learned the ins and outs of electrical work, driving anything with a pedal and some wheels, plumbing, carpentry, the right way to use tools effectively, and how to get the job done. He was never afraid to teach you his tricks, and when you think you got him beat he would outwit you right back.

Delwin loved spending time with his family (especially his brothers), friends, grilling, fishing, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, listening to Black Hawk Band, helping his mom out on the farm, and calling his daughter and granddaughter whom live in Reno, Nevada. Delwin was spiritual and proud of his Native American Heritage of the Beaver Creek Indian Tribe in Salley, South Carolina.

He leaves behind his mother, Sharon Chavis; daughter, Courtney; granddaughter, Autumn; then his siblings, Dee Meyers, Debbie Blankman, Daniel Chavis, Darla Chavis, Desiree Chavis, Devin Chavis, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Delwin was preceded in death by his father, uncle Dave, grandmother Mattie, grandmother Mable, grandfather Lyle, Sr. and nephew Ian.
