She lived most of her life in George, Iowa, where she met her husband, Nick Greene. They got married July 28th, 1990 in George, Iowa, until they settled down in Rock Valley, Iowa. They were married for 31 years and had 5 kids together.
Denise obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in 1989 from Augustana in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree with honors in 1993 at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Denise worked as a family practice physician for 25 years. She was dedicated to serving her patients and community. Some of her greatest joys in her career were delivering babies and continuing to care and be a part of their lives as they grew older. Another meaningful part of Denise’s career involved caring for the geriatric population, which was dear to her heart. Denise made it a great priority to attend to each patient she treated and truly listened to their individual needs.
In Denise’s “free” time, she enjoyed a cold margarita and a daily Diet Coke with a bag of Cheetos. She also cherished time with her family and friends. This included attending her kids/grandkids sporting events and other school or life events. Even with her busy work schedule, you could always count on her to be sitting in the crowd, cheering you on. Denise also had a love for days spent boating on the lake, and watching American Idol, Law & Order, and football-specifically the Minnesota Vikings. Denise took pleasure in shopping, getting her hair and nails done, and going to Christian concerts as well.
