Sidney, Texas~ Dennis James Faber, 67, of Sidney, Texas formerly of Inwood, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Inwood Christian Reformed Church in Inwood, Iowa with Rev. Adam Eisenga officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter Funeral Home in Inwood. The funeral will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/InwoodCRC/. Dennis James Faber was born October 15, 1953 to Jim and Sadie (Folkerts) Faber. He grew up on a farm southwest of Inwood, Iowa and attended Inwood Christian School and later graduated from Western Christian High School in 1971.
Dennis had four daughters, Patricia, Vicki, Christy, and Bethann, one son, Jacob, and one stepdaughter, Lindsey.
At an early age, Dennis learned the ranching and dairy business and spent his whole life in agriculture and taking care of livestock. He worked on many ranches and dairies in Arizona, Iowa, North Dakota, California, and Texas, making many friends along the way.
He had a love for animals, especially his horses, his dogs, and his cattle.
Dennis was a hard worker and a devoted friend to many! He enjoyed taking friends and family on hunting trips, rodeoing, and had a huge appreciation for the beautiful outdoors.
He was a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His favorite things to do were to share with them new sites, experiences, and just hang out at the farm!
Dennis is known for his unforgettable stories, his contagious laugh, and above all, his strength, determination, and love for his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Patricia Van Ginkel of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Vicki St. Clair of Larchwood, Iowa, Christy West of Chandler, Arizona, Bethann Hoogestraat of Inwood, and Jacob Marcy of Stephenville, Texas; stepdaughter, Lindsey (Marcy) Bakal; stepsons, Jim Longtin of Saginaw, Texas and Joe Longtin of Eagan, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Nichole Marcy; grandchildren, Derek, Deven, Ashley, Marissa, Christian, Shealyn, Tyler, Brianna, Jonathan, Shaelee, Brandon, Alli Jo, Jenessa, Carter, Alexander, Autumn, Alyssa, Peyton, Grace, Wyatt, and Ari; 16 great-grandchildren; his parents, Jim and Sadie Faber of Inwood; and two brothers-in-law, Roger Bouwman and Doug Bliek.
Dennis was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Dean Faber; and two sisters, Karen (Faber) Bouwman and Susan (Faber) Bliek.
