Rock Valley, Iowa ~ Diane Mae Rozeboom, 75, of Rock Valley, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family and under the care of Sioux Center Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Rock Valley with Rev. J.J. Witvoet officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, Diane’s family prefers memorials be directed to Sioux Center Hospice and the Netherlands Reformed Christian School.
Diane was born July 23, 1950, in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Jennie (De Boer) Driesen. She grew up on a farm south of Rock Valley, Iowa and moved into town when she was 14. She attended Rock Valley Christian School and graduated from Western Christian High School in 1968. Diane then attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa.
Diane married Harry Rozeboom on March 19, 1971, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. They lived on a farm west of Rock Valley and later north of Inwood, Iowa before moving into Rock Valley. Over the years Diane worked as a secretary at Hegg Hospital, at the Towne House in Rock Valley and JC Penney’s in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She also was employed at Nemschof in Sioux Center, Iowa, then Bomgaars and later at Cenex in Rock Valley. Her favorite job was being a taxi driver for her grandkids. Diane found joy in gardening, sewing, and reading and took great joy in baking treats and canning for those she loved. She cherished caring for her grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their events.
Diane is survived by her husband, Harry; their five children, Darla Parks of Rock Valley and her children Trevor, Blake, and Erica; David Rozeboom of Rock Valley; Rachel Spaans of Rock Valley and her children Lucas, Levi and wife Ana, Courtney and husband Jason Koedam, Kylea and fiancé Jacob Brown, and Kayden and fiancé Aubrey Cannegieter, Rebecca Fluit and her husband Ryan of Rock Valley and their children Keirra and Jaxson, and Melissa Helle and her husband Greg of Tea, South Dakota and their children Sawyer and Alexis; 5 great-grandchildren, Thea, Elana, and Robin Koedam, and Asher and Greyson Spaans; siblings and in-laws, Harold and June Driesen, Nella Driesen, Margaret Driesen, all of Hull, Iowa, Donna Driesen of Rock Valley, Helen Remmerde of Salem, Oregon, Carol Sandbulte of Rock Valley, and Marion Driesen of Oostburg, Wisconsin; and Harry’s siblings, Herm and Cheryl Rozeboom and Leonard and Evonne Rozeboom all of Rock Valley, Larry and Tammy Rozeboom of Spencer, Iowa, Richard and Lynette Rozeboom of Rock Valley, and Harlan and Carol Rozeboom of Sioux Center, Iowa; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Jennie Driesen; her parents-in-law, Dick L. and Hermina Rozeboom; son-in-law, Leslie Spaans; her siblings, Gene Driesen, Bernie Driesen, Donald Driesen, and Elaine Van Otterloo and her husband Howard; and in-laws, Ken Remmerde and Rodney Sandbulte.
