Dirk Allen Rozeboom was born on March 1, 1988, to Daryl and Kath Rozeboom. The family moved to Hudson in 1994. Dirk cherished the small-town life, and he wanted to raise his family in that environment. Dirk graduated from Beresford High School in 2006 and went on to attend SDSU. Dirk started trucking in 2009 for his parents. A year later, Dirk purchased his red Peterbilt that he loved. He had a long, accident-free trucking career, over one million miles, of which he was very proud.

The best day of Dirk’s life was June 11, 2022, the day he married his best friend and the love of his life, Brittany, and became a father to their three children, Tobey, Maci, and Tate. Dirk and “Britt” were best friends who knew without a doubt that God had made them for one another. The second happiest day of his life was January 16, 2024, when he officially became Tobey, Maci, and Tate’s father through adoption. Britt and their children were the biggest joys in his life, and he made sure to show that to them every chance that he got.

Dirk loved to go on adventures, take a trip, and create memories with everyone around him. He lived big and loved bigger. Dirk loved to laugh and would say almost anything to evoke a reaction out of those around him. He loved playing paintball, building car engines from start to finish, racing, and ramping anything he could (“Truck Stuffff!!”). His biggest hope in life was to leave a legacy, with everyone having amazing memories and great stories to tell. He was a talker and an amazing friend. He would ask for life advice all the while giving you the best advice you could ever wish for. An hour would pass before you even realized it.

Some of Dirk’s most cherished times were the time he spent at home with his family. He loved tinkering in the garage with Tobey, playing a tense game of Monopoly with Maci, and building K’nex with Tate. He spent many Saturdays taking the kids on parts runs and grabbing breakfast. He was ready to help the kids with any project they came up with. To be there for his family, Dirk was known to pull up to the school in his truck to the kids' activities. Dirk was proud of the home that he and Britt built together and was ready for any project Britt could find for him.

Left to cherish his memories and to continue his legacy are the loves of his life, wife, Brittany; their 3 children, Tobey, Maci, and Tate; parents, Daryl and Kath (Schelling) Rozeboom; siblings, Maria (James) Vlastuin, Zach (Jamie) Rozeboom, Tessa (Dan) Lindsay, Clark (Brooke) Rozeboom, and Seth (Shania) Rozeboom; parents-in-law, Rainer and Diane Van Bemmel; siblings-in-law, Jeff (Kacie) Van Bemmel, Angie (Steve) Maassen, and Niki (Mike) Pollema; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Bowe and Jojo.

Dirk was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kryna Rozeboom, Dick Rozeboom, and Betty Rozeboom; maternal grandparents, Rochus and Marian Schelling; dear family friends, Donnie and Inez Bronkhorst and their children Mark and Cindy; and nephew, Kane Jeffrey Van Bemmel.
