Rock Valley, Iowa: Emma Louise Crouse, 92, of Rock Valley, Iowa died Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in George, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be 9:30-11:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2015 at Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Emma Louise Crouse, daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Van Geest) Den Hartog, was born January 23, 1923 at Rock Valley, Iowa. Louise attended and graduated from Rock Valley High School. She met Raymond Crouse and they fell in love and were united in marriage. Louise enjoyed playing the harmonica and playing the card game Tick. She loved riding her bicycle and even rode it well into her 80s. Louise served 19 years as a Foster Grandparent in Rock Valley and she was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, Iowa.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Dolly (Guido) Gnatek of Attica, Michigan; son, David Crouse of Lapeer, Michigan; sister, Jean Heidebrink of Hull, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a special nephew and niece who helped look after her, Paul and Marijo Smit of Alton, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gertrude; husband, Raymond; son, Mason Crouse; 2 daughters, Joyce Gill and Pam Lothery; 2 grandsons, Bennie and Brian Lothery; 3 brothers, Neal, Melvin, and Richard Den Hartog; sister, Dolly Rehberg; and brother-in-law, Clarence Heidebrink.
