Eunice Vandenbos

Eunice M. Vandenbos, 86 of Altoona, WI died on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Mayo Clinic-Eau Claire, WI.

She was born on April 19, 1929 to Christian and Elsie (Johnson) Serck in Hudson, SD. She married Kermit Q. Vandenbos on July 16, 1952. Eunice was a dedicated Military and Doctor’s wife. She was a very special mother and grandmother who loved to cook, organize and laugh. She had a beautiful and generous heart which will be greatly missed.

Eunice is survived by two children: Deborah (David) Tackmann and Scott (Paula) Vandenbos, five grandchildren: Brian, John (Aubrey), Michael Tackmann, Megan (fiancé James Colwell), Jacob Vandenbos, two great grandchildren: Kendall and Brody Tackmann and one on the way, sister-in-law, Carrie Ann Serck and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband on August 26, 2007, her brother, Bernard Serck, two sisters: Elizabeth (Tony) Heuer and Marie (Rolph) Cole.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona at 5:15 P.M. with Rev. Kurt Jacobson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Visitation will also be held at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, Iowa on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Burial service to follow at Eden Cemetery, Hudson, South Dakota with Pastor Lori Marty officiating.
