Gerald "Jack" Van Otterloo

   On Tuesday March 16, 2021, Gerald (Jack) Van Otterloo, of Lakewood, CA, passed away at the age of 86.  

   Jack was born on March 20, 1934 in Rock Valley, Iowa to John & Dora Van Otterloo.  He was one of nine siblings.  He married Kay Landegent March 30, 1955.  They lived in Rock Valley before moving to California in Feb, 1956.  

   Jack worked as a truck driver for ICX and McDonnell Douglas for 35 years.  He retired early and had many hobbies, including gardening & garage sales; and being with family & friends.  Jack and Kay loved to travel; they attended church at First Artesia Christian Reformed Church.

   Jack is survived by his wife, Kay, his five children – Diane Boyd, Carol (Randy) Vande Stouwe, Jon Randall Van Otterloo, Connie (Tom) Verhoeven, Mark (Nancy) Van Otterloo, 11 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, and his siblings/spouses – John (Esther) Van Otterloo, Grace Brands, Alvin (Pat) Van Otterloo, Evie (Willus) Pollema; sister in laws – Lucy Van Otterloo and Sharon Van Otterloo.

   Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John & Dora; his siblings Rich (Lyda) Van Otterloo, baby Grace, Melvin Van Otterloo, Harold Van Otterloo; and his brother in law, Gerrit Jr Brands.

   Jack’s memorial service will be Saturday, March 27, 2021, in California.  He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
