Gertrude Rozeboom

Rock Valley, IA: Gertrude Rozeboom, 99, of Rock Valley, Iowa, died Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Mound, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19^th at 11:00am at Faith Reformed Church of Rock Valley with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. The service can be livestreamed at https://www.faithrv.com/. Burial will be held prior to the service at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley with the funeral procession leaving Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley for the cemetery at 10:00am Saturday.

   Gertrude was born in Rock Valley, Iowa, March 7, 1923, to Tim and Gertie Kooima. She lived with her family on a farm two miles southwest of town. She was one of nine siblings: Sam, Trace, Adrianne, Paul, Ed, Lawrence, Art, Gertrude, and Lois. Gertrude was the last surviving member of her family.

   She married Henry Rozeboom on September 12, 1941, and moved to his family farm four and one-half miles southeast of town where they lived and farmed for 48 years. They moved to town in 1989. Henry passed away April 10, 1993. Henry and Gertrude were charter members of Faith Reformed Church. Gertrude was devoted to her family, her faith, and the farm.

   Gertrude is survived by her four children: Lyle (Carol Van Voorst) of Rochester, Minnesota; Linda (Stan) Van Peursem of Surprise, Arizona; Dennis (Ann Yaggie) of Minnetrista, Minnesota; and Donita (Gary) De Bruin of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Nathan, Aaron, Dave, and Debra Rozeboom; Dustin and Heather Van Peursem; Noah and Micah Rozeboom; and Kristen (De Bruin) Catalano and Laura (De Bruin) Fouty and 15 great grandchildren.
