My Uncle Glenn - September 4, 2013
Posted: May 11, 2017 | Last Revised: May 12, 2017

I was saddened today to hear of my Uncle's death. I never knew him that well and as I get older I wish that would have been otherwise. I remember being very young, a very early memory, and going to see him and my Aunt Sharon once. The family would get together at Christmas when my grandfather was alive but that was pretty much the extent. What I remember the most though is sitting next to Glenn at my dad's wake. We had a good casual talk for quite a while. It wasn't deep talk about anything in particular... just talk. I didn't want it to end but there were quite a few people around. What struck me the most is how much Glenn reminded me of my father. The look but more importantly... the laugh, the way his teeth were lined up just like my dad's... similar to my own. I find it good that I know this yet sad that these are my memories of an Uncle that I wish I'd known better. I'm sad now that that opportunity is now lost. God Speed Glenn.
