HAWARDEN, IOWA ~ Judith “Judy” Arline Danielson, 79, of LeMars, Iowa, formerly of Hawarden, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Accura Healthcare of LeMars, in LeMars.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, Iowa with Jeff Rabey her nephew officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
Judith “Judy” Arline Danielson was born July 19, 1946, in Artesia, California, the daughter of Lester Roy and Lois Arline (Hedden) De Vries. Her family moved to the Hawarden area early in 1947.
Judy married Sharon Danielson on August 29, 1970, in Akron, Iowa. The couple made their home in Hawarden, Iowa. Judy was employed at Custom Coils in Alcester, South Dakota and later worked at Coilcraft in Hawarden for 30 plus years before her retirement. Sharon died November 30, 1997. Judy moved to LeMars, Iowa in 2021, where she lived with her daughter, before moving to Accura Healthcare of LeMars in May of 2023.
Judy loved fishing and camping with her husband Sharon and enjoyed playing Bingo and being in the pool league at the Eagles Club. Every Saturday she would join her friends and play cards at the Eagles.
Judy is survived by her son, Don Danielson and his wife Cindy of Merrill, Iowa and their 2 children, Kaitlyn Danielson and Kollin Danielson and Shai-Lyn; daughter, Kristina Cooper of Remsen, Iowa and her 5 children, Taylor Rensink and Casey, Mercedes Guerrero and Justin, Adriana Guerrero and Javier, Hannah Cooper, and Kelvin Cooper II; a great-grandson, Jahmari Harrison and one on the way; 2 brothers, John (Willy) DeVries and Lannie (Twila) DeVries all of Hawarden; 3 sisters, Evelyn Schoppman of Hawarden, Madonna (Chris) Grubb of Hawarden, and Susan (George) Taylor of LeMars, Iowa; brother-in-law, Wilbur Gradert of Hawarden; and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lois; husband, Sharon; 2 sisters, Sandy Gradert and Norma Rabey and her husband Bill; and son-in-law, Kelvin Cooper.
