Kay Pocklington

Hawarden, IA: Kay Dean Pocklington, 82, of Hawarden, Iowa died Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence. Graveside memorial services, with full military rites, will be held Thursday, September 27, at 2:00 PM at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden with Pastor Erma Wolf officiating.

Kay Dean Pocklington, son of Merle and Louella (Jacobe) Pocklington, was born July 6, 1936 in Hawarden, Iowa. Kay attended and graduated from Hawarden High School. He served his country as member of the United States Air Force from July 5, 1955 – July 4, 1959. On August 24, 1980, Kay was united in marriage with Veronica Hill at the Associated Church in Hawarden.

Kay had an enjoyment for building and flying large model airplanes. He also enjoyed reading, tinkering in his shed, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

Kay is survived by his wife Veronica; and one sister, Lynette (Jeff) Hoff of Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Louella, and one brother, Larry Pocklington.
