   Kyle James Bottorff passed away unexpectedly November 1, 2022 in Sioux City, Iowa. 

   A private family memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden, Iowa with Rev. Joshua Lowe officiating. Inurnment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

   Kyle was born on October 4,1996 in Orange City, Iowa to Jodi (Bottorff) Ver Mulm. Kyle grew up in Hawarden and was delighted to be the only child in the home for the first 9 years of his life.  Kyle was always looking for a new adventure as a child.  He spent many days in the tractor with his grandpa Vernie or helping his grandma Dorothy (farm grandma) in the garden.  On the farm Kyle and the beloved dog Nikki would be a constant pair out looking for adventure.  Kyle also enjoyed days on the snowmobile "in the forest" with his grandpa Randy and shopping trips with his Grandma Barb.  Kyle loved to visit his Grandpa El and Grandma Earlene.  They even went on a fishing trip or two and Kyle built his very own fort in the woods.  

   As a youth, Kyle played baseball, football, and wrestling. He learned to shoot Bow and Arrow from his Grandpa Randy, he also liked to fish, and tried his hand at hunting.   

   As a teenager, Kyle continued his interest in sports and fishing and liked to work on cars.  He received a GED in 2014, and experienced life in a wide variety of jobs as a laborer.

   In his later years, Kyle lived in Minnesota for a while with his dad and his family.  Kyle got to experience living on a farm. He was also able to enjoy a fishing trip with his dad and his wife.   

   Kyle is survived by his parents, Jodi Ver Mulm and husband Rob, and their children R.J (15), and Bailey (12) of Hawarden, and Matt Sanderson and wife Donna, and their children Will (24) of Kailua, HI, Alexandria (21), Evan (18), and Tabitha (16) of Tyler MN.; brother, Austin Keiser (27) of Sioux Falls; his grandparents, Randy and Barb Ballard of Hawarden, IA.,  Elbert and Earlene Bottorff of Ponca, NE., and   Robert and Jeanne Ver Mulm of Sioux Center, IA.;  and great-grandmother, Dorothy Olson of Hawarden. Kyle left behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins to cherish his memory.

   He was preceded in death by his grandma, Joyce Ver Mulm, grandpa, Bill Sanderson, great-grandfather, Marvin Ver Hoeven, great-grandfather, Vernie Olson, great-grandparents, Robert and Johanna Ver Mulm, and great-grandmother, Pearl Bloemendaal.
