Landon Wayne Baker was born on July 15, 2007, at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley, Iowa, to Alyssa Baker. Although Landon didn’t get the chance to know his biological father, he had many father-figures throughout his life who loved him dearly.
Even at a young age, Landon thought very deeply and felt very deeply about the world around him. From Hot Wheels as a little boy to his own project car, Landon loved anything with wheels. Landon wanted to drive, and he wanted to drive fast. Landon loved playing X-box, shooting hoops and hanging out with friends. They had many adventures by the river and outdoors. Trouble had a way of finding Landon, but his heart was always in the right place, and he would drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need.
Landon worked for Ben Pribyl Construction in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and he loved his work. Landon learned so many things alongside Ben and looked forward to advancing in the construction field.
Left to cherish his memory are Landon’s Mother, Alyssa Slade and Step-Father, Lennon Slade (and family); brother, Charlie Shearer (and Shearer family); Grandparents, Gary and Kristi Baker; Great-Grandparents, Gerrit and Joanne Baker and Arlis Vande Kamp; Aunt, Ashley Lewis; Uncle, Dale Lewis; Cousins, Farrah (Alex) Presthus, Jackson Lewis, Joanna Lewis and Mason Lewis; many Great-Aunts and Uncles; and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandparents, Gerrit (Gary) and Jean Vande Kamp; and his Great-Aunt, Kathy Van Anken.
Blessed Be His Memory.
