Inwood, Iowa: Leo Pedersen, age 88, of Inwood, Iowa died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Fellowship Village. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. John Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at the Richland Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Inwood Porter Funeral Home. Leo was born February 3, 1925 in Inwood, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Maria (Jensen) Pedersen. He grew up in Inwood and graduated from the Inwood High School in 1944. Leo married Betty Schlumbohm at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Inwood on August 31, 1947. Afterwards, they lived in Inwood where Leo was a carpenter, learning the trade from his dad. Leo built houses in Sioux Falls prior to being on the maintenance department at the West Lyon School for 17 years. Betty died March 20, 2009. In his later years, Leo enjoyed wood working, especially making very detailed Noah's Arks. Leo will always be known as a whistling, kind-hearted, caring family man. He loved spending time with his cat, Belle, in his lap watching baseball, he was an avid Twins fan.

Leo is survived by his sons, Dan (Barbara) Pedersen of Inwood, IA and Mick (Lisa) Pedersen of Roy, UT; daughters, Cindy (Jerry) Van Voorst of Inwood, IA and Mary (Jeff) Grotewold of Larchwood, IA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don (Karol) Pedersen of Inwood, IA.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, Alfred and Maria; brothers, Glenn (Marilyn) Pedersen and Robert (Polly) Pedersen; and sister, Dorthea (Vincent) Nibali.
