Linda Lee Koedam

Rock Valley, IA: Linda Lee Koedam, 72, of Rock Valley, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 14, at 10:00 AM at Faith Reformed Church in Rock Valley with Pastor Keith Sietstra and Rev. Mike Molenaar officiating. The service will be livestreamed at www.faithrv.com. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Masks are recommended for the funeral service. Visitation, with the family present, will be held Friday, November 13, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the church. Per the Governor’s proclamation, masks are mandatory for visitation. Memorials may be given to Faith Reformed Church’s RCYF or CREW. 

   Linda Lee (Williams) Koedam, was born September 13, 1948, at Baxter, Iowa to Alvin and Frieda (Agena) Williams. Her family later moved to Lennox, South Dakota where she graduated high school. Linda was united in marriage with Sid Koedam on May 3, 1968, at Lennox. Linda was an administrative assistant for many years. She worked at the Rock Valley Bee, Sheldon Livestock, Rock Valley Community School, Farm Bureau, and Aflac. Linda was a member of Faith Reformed Church of Rock Valley where she taught Sunday School for many years.

   Linda lived her life with a strong faith in God. She was a self-less person who always put others before herself. When Linda walked into a room she would light it up. She was a true embodiment of Christ. The things that mattered most to Linda were her faith in God, family (especially her grandchildren), and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events and fine arts. Linda enjoyed coffee on the patio with her friends, traveling to Mexico, Big McDonald Lake, and Okoboji.

   Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Sid; three children, Jeanie (Jim) Jacobsen of Canton, South Dakota, Mike (Angie) Koedam, and Michelle Koedam, both of Rock Valley; four grandchildren, Kacie Jacobsen, Brianna (Jace) Vande Kamp, Hunter Jacobsen, and Kielee Koedam; siblings, Donna White of Lennox and Gary Williams of Worthing, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Roger (Muriel) Koedam of Rock Valley; sisters-in-law, Lavonne Joyal of Rock Valley, Betty (Randy) Kock of Inwood, Iowa, and Kathy (Dennis) Cannegieter of Rock Valley; as well as many friends whom she considered family.

   Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Frieda; infant brother, Roger Williams; and father and mother-in-law, William S. and Everdena Koedam.
