Lois is very much loved by my family. She and my mother, Doris (Dowdey) Vander Helm were cousins but thought of each other as sisters, going through bad times and good times together. They had great times working together at church and at the Smart Shop. When Mom passed, Lois became a mother figure to us. She will be happily remembered.
