Lonnie Dean Johnson, son of Paul and Bernice (Timmer) Johnson, was born January 28, 1960. He went to school in Doon and at Central Lyon. When he finished school, he worked in various concrete construction jobs, drove semi-truck, laid stone for his dad, worked with his brother, and owned his own business, J&J Concrete. He loved to teach others in the concrete construction trade with hopes that his knowledge and skills would be passed on to benefit the next generation.

He settled down with the love of his life, Janice Keizer, on November 19, 1982. They were blessed with two sons, Cody and Carl. Together they lived on an acreage by Inwood and built a new home in Doon. As a family, they loved to travel, hunt, fish, ride snowmobile, and watch races, especially late models and sprint cars. He made many lifelong friends in the racing community.

Lonnie loved his family, especially his grandkids. He always greeted them asking "where's my hug?” and made sure they filled his hug tank again before they left. They enjoyed spending time with him fishing; watching races, riding four wheelers, snowmobiles, and motorcycle; eating ice cream and whatever treats he could sneak to them; feeding birds; and sitting with him listening to his stories. He always looked forward to buying fireworks for the fourth of July to see how many smiles he could bring to everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons and their wives, Cody and Kelli, and Carl and Julie; five grandchildren, Caleb, Charlie, Brylie, Micah, and Sawyer; two brothers, Mike (Linda) Johnson and Larry (Cindy) Johnson; one sister, Paula (Harlan) Van Hill; two sisters-in-law, Jennie Johnson and Twila Harms; one brother-in-law, John (Sharon) Keizer; two sisters-in-law, Wanda (Kent) Van't Hul and Rose (Randy) Van Engen; and several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Bernice Johnson; parents-in-law, Dick and Theo Keizer; two brothers, Marlin Johnson and Bernie Johnson; brother-in-law, Warren Harms; and a niece, Lisa Johnson.
