Marian Wanda Moeller was born to Robert and Anna (Jahn) Vander Hamm on February 23, 1921 on the farm where she was raised near Ireton, Iowa. Her mother passed away when she was two and she then was raised by Robert and her step-mother, Edna (Kading) Vander Hamm. She attended country school through the 8th grade. Marian was a pioneer woman and tended the countless chores of farm life while helping to raise her five younger siblings.

She was united in marriage to Marlin Moeller on November 28, 1943. Marlin and Marian farmed together and raised two daughters. In 1954 they moved to Hawarden, Iowa where she resided until 2012, when she moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton where she taught Sunday School for 25 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

Marian loved the simple things in life. She planted many beds of flowers, canned countless jars of produce, and pieced and hand quilted numerous quilts. She was adored by family and friends who could never get enough of her famous cinnamon rolls. Her grandkids and their friends enjoyed the many trips grandma took them on. She also enjoyed fishing, sewing, and wintering in Texas.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Lois (Kenneth) Campbell and Judy Moeller both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Brenda (Keith) Scholten, Ronna (Peter) Campbell, Cheryl (Eric) Hage, and Jeff (Brooke) Campbell; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Osterkamp of Alcester, South Dakota; and two sisters-in-law, Lavonne Vander Hamm of Hawarden, Iowa and Leora Bonnema of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
