HAWARDEN, IOWA- Marjorie T. Crow, 88, of Hawarden, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Hillcrest Health Care Services in Hawarden.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father Roger Linnan officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. The family will be present beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Marjorie T. Crow was born December 29, 1924 in Donnelly, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin and Agnes (Shuster) Forsberg. She graduated from Tintah, Minnesota High School in 1942 as the class valedictorian and attended Morningside and Westmar Colleges, receiving a teaching certificate. She taught for 6 years.
Margie married Dallas Crow on July 5, 1947 in Hawarden, Iowa. They made their home in Hawarden where they raised their 6 daughters. Marjorie was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Hawarden American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, especially her African violets. She liked the company of her cats, Leroy and Tabby.
Margie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dallas; daughters, Gayle Crow, Jeanne Crow, Mary Crow all of Hawarden, Kay Larson and husband Dann of LeMars, Iowa, Julie Pravecek and husband Chad of Merrill, Iowa, and Joyce Scheitler and husband Rob of LeMars, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Holly Larson, Chris Larson, Cassidy Pravecek, Beau Pravecek, and Shaunna Scheitler; a brother, Adolph Forsberg and his wife Elsie of Chisholm, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Georgia Crow of Rapid City, South Dakota; and many nephews and nieces.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Marie Ross and Bette Millard; and 3 brothers, Don Forsberg, Robert Forsberg, and Harold Forsberg.
