Mark E. "Skip" Morken

Mark E. "Skip" Morken, 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. He was born in Platte, SD and lived most of his life in SD. Friends and family will miss his great sense of humor and hearing about the latest NASCAR race. Skip proudly served in the SD National Guard for 15 years.
 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Morken, Lee Tillotson; and his sister, Pamella "Penny" Dee Morken.
 
 He is survived by his beloved daughter Tonya Giese and her husband Dustin; 2 grandchildren; Jayda and Lincoln; three step children from his marriage to Kathy Morken of Mitchell, SD, Todd Cooper (Tammy), Nicole Cooper (Mike), Shawn Cooper (Mary) and his sister Bonnie Morken and brother David Morken. 
 
 The family wishes to have a private memorial gathering to honor him at a later date. He was loved and will be dearly missed.
 
 Skip’s family would  like to give a special thanks to Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD for their wonderful care of Skip during his journey.
