Melanie Sue Post

Rock Valley, IA: Melanie Sue Post, 29, of Rock Valley, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, at 2:00 PM at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation of Rock Valley with Rev. J.J. Witvoet officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley. Visitation, with the family present, will be held Thursday, February 16, from 5:30-7:30 PM at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.

   Melanie Sue Post, daughter of Allan and LeAnn (Klarenbeek) Post was born on July 12, 1993. Melanie grew up on her parents’ acreage near Alvord, Iowa. She attended the Netherlands Reformed Christian School, graduating in 2012. She worked as a caregiver at Fellowship Village of Inwood, Iowa, later working at Fareway Grocery in Sioux Center, Iowa. At the time of her passing, Melanie worked at A&I Products in Rock Valley.

   Melanie is survived by her parents, Allan and LeAnn Post; siblings, Evan, Jolene, Shelli, and Mark; paternal grandparents, Arlin and Sally Post; maternal grandmother, Bernice (Klarenbeek) Van Veldhuizen; along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

   Melanie was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Leonard Klarenbeek; step-grandfather, Cornie Van Veldhuizen; and uncle, Arlen Klarenbeek.
