Myrna Faye Schelling

Hull, IA: Myrna Schelling, age 77, passed away at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, Iowa after a courageous battle of Lewy Body Dementia and a breast cancer survivor.

   A private family burial will be held at Harrison Township Cemetery at May City, Iowa, followed by a Memorial Service and time of fellowship at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley, Iowa on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1:30 PM.

   Myrna Schelling was born to Edna Langstraat in Sioux Center, Iowa on January 8, 1949. Upon the marriage of Edna to Paul Schelling, Myrna was adopted and gained four brothers.

   Myrna’s early years were on the farm by Carmel, Doon, then Boyden, Iowa. Her adult years were spent in Hull and LeMars, Iowa and most recently in Mesa, Arizona. Myrna’s life was spent working at various jobs, the most enjoyable to her was being a waitress.

   Those who cherish her memory are her significant-other, Ray Harry of Hawarden, Iowa; brothers, Cornelius and Phyllis of Carroll, Iowa, Henry and Beverly of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jerry and Melinda of Freemont, Nebraska; sisters, Helen and Wes Cannegieter of Rock Valley, and Paula and Bert Soldner of Beloit, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.

   Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Edna Schelling; brother, William; nephews, Clinton, Jeffrey, and Jacob; and niece, Jacqueline.
