Nancy Schrank

Larchwood, IA: Nancy Schrank, 82, of Larchwood, Iowa, died Saturday, September 10, 2022, at her residence in Larchwood. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 14, at 10:00 AM at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley, Iowa, with Sister Jodie Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery of Doon, Iowa. Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley is assisting the family.

   Nancy Schrank, the daughter of Charles and Irene (Farnsworth) Saavedra, was born February 21, 1940. She grew up in Michigan, and later lived in Florida and most recently Iowa. Nancy married William Sieler Sr. at Mitchell, South Dakota in 1968. The couple later divorced, but remained close friends until Bill’s death in 2015. Nancy worked different jobs over the years that included being a waitress and doing decoupage. She was very talented at decoupaging pictures onto wood.

   Nancy loved to cook and was very good at it. Her tacos and homemade spaghetti sauce were amazing. She loved dancing, riding horses, and antiques. Her favorite pastime however was going to the casino.

   Nancy is survived by her 5 children, Venus Van Tilburg of Larchwood, Iowa, Heather Dixon of Steen, Minnesota, Bill (Ann) Sieler of George, Iowa, Dawn Suhr of Larchwood, Iowa, and Jason (Roxanne) Sieler of George, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Faye Luper, Tricia Fausel, and Debbie Saaverda.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Irene; and 4 brothers, Charles, Jimmy, Jerry, and Ronnie.
