Nathan Paul Klok

BOYDEN, IOWA ~ Nathan Paul Klok, age 2, son of William and Rachel Klok, of rural Boyden, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, from an accident on the family farm.

   Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Rock Valley, Iowa, with Rev. J.J. Witvoet officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be donated to the Boyden Fire and Ambulance crews.

   Nathan Paul Klok, son of William and Rachel Klok, was born on November 16, 2021. In spite of having four older brothers, he never lacked attention with his loud voice and vivacious personality.  Nathan learned to talk early on and constantly entertained us with his continual narration of everything he saw. He loved being on the farm with Dad and was never happier than when he could ride in the skid loader or come along in Dad’s truck.  Nathan adored all his older brothers but was most often found with Charles, jumping on the trampoline, or playing in the sandbox. He also loved to hold and play (Nathan-style) with his baby brother Peter. Although he was noisy and energetic at home, around strangers he was timid and shy.  He stayed close to Mom and always loved to cuddle.

   Nathan is survived by his parents, William and Rachel of rural Boyden, Iowa; his 5 brothers, Gerrit, Wade, Miles, Charles, and Peter; paternal grandmother, Helen Klok of Picture Butte, Alberta; maternal grandparents, Hank and Laurie Van der Waal of Boyden; great-grandmothers, Alyda Bleeker and Elizabeth Van der Waal; aunts and uncles, Jacky and Brian deKok, Cora and Harry Van Maanen, Henk and Deanna Klok, Elina and Dwayne Van Maanen, Jerry and Marissa Klok (all of Picture Butte, Alberta), Krystle and Keith Schelling, Brian and Tiffany Van der Waal, Jonathan and Kimberly Van der Waal, Mark and Makenzi Van der Waal, Alyssa Van der Waal, his special babysitter, aunt Emily Van der Waal; and 44 cousins.

   He was predeceased by his Opa, Gerrit Klok and his aunt, Lauren Van der Waal.
