Nicolas Salinas, 30, of Inwood, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Inwood on Saturday, May 16, 2026. A private celebration of life service, in his honor, will be held in Minnesota at a later date.
Nicolas Salinas, the son of Cindy (Cecil) Nissley and Juan Salinas, was born May 30, 1995, at Sibley, Iowa. Nic was a graduate of Sibley-Ocheyedan High School. After school he enrolled in the United States Army and proudly served his country in the infantry branch of the Army. Following his honorable discharge, Nic continued to serve as a member of the Iowa National Guard and Iowa Honor Guard.
Nic thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and being in nature. He had a huge heart for those he loved and every time you saw him, he would always have the biggest smile and give the best hugs. Nic loved his family more than anything and he will be deeply missed.
Nic is survived by his mother and step-father, Cindy and Cecil Nissley; father, Juan Salinas; brother, Anthony (Tamara) Salinas and their children, Corina and Cooper Salinas; brother, Wayne Salinas; grandfather, Wayne Singer; aunts, Debbie (Al) Clement and Shari (Frank) Kmett; uncle, Gregg (RuthAnn) Singer; and step-siblings, Denton Nissley, Monica Nissley, and April Snider. Nic was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janie Singer.
