Savannah "Vanna" Flynn

Alcester, South Dakota ~ Savannah “Vanna” K. Flynn, 32, originally from Yankton, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident in Alvord, Iowa on Friday, October 5, 2018.

All family and friends are invited to join her family as they celebrate her life with a gathering at the Alcester Bar in Alcester, South Dakota on Saturday, October 13, 2018. The gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will continue throughout the afternoon and evening. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, Iowa is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to porterfuneralhomes.com. The family requests memorials in Vanna’s name be mailed to her mother Debra Flynn at 2007 Elm Street in Yankton, South Dakota.

Savannah “Vanna” K. Flynn was born on June 12, 1986 in Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Kendall and Debra (Hackett) Flynn. Vanna was a loving, outgoing person, who loved working outdoors with animals. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Vanna loved camping, swimming and time spent with her 3 kids.

Vanna is survived by her 3 children, Jackson, Kendall, and Tierney, and their father, Chad Schroeder of Howard, South Dakota; her mother, Debra Hackett Flynn (Matt Larson) of Yankton, South Dakota; brothers, Larry Alver of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Patrick Flynn of Alcester, South Dakota; sister, Charlie (Aaron) Marek of Yankton, South Dakota; special friend, Travis Endelman; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Vanna was preceded in death by her father, Kendall Flynn; grandparents, Dale and Patricia Flynn, Betty Jennings, and Dutch Hackett; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

So very sorry. I loved Vanna. We were neighbors in yankton when she was 12. I have fond memories of her and I rescuing puppies from the pound, and not so happy memories of her helping me bury my dog. I've prayed for her for the past 20 yrs and hope to see her again in heaven.
