Hawarden, IA: Sherri Harry, 72, of Hawarden, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Secaucus, New Jersey, on the first day of an autumn leaves tour of New England. A bucket list item she didn’t get to complete. A celebration of life will be held at Oak Grove Park shelter house on November 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM. A catered lunch will be served at 12:00 PM.
Sherri Lynn Eilts was born on March 25, 1953, to Lloyd and Gloria Jean (Kopecky) Eilts in Hawarden, Iowa. Sherri attended West Sioux Schools, graduating from high school in 1971. She was united in marriage to David Harry on November 6, 1971. Dave was said by some to have robbed the cradle. Sherri didn’t think so. Two children were born to this union, Nathan (Nate) and Jason (Jake).
Sherri worked at Sunshine Foods as a scanner coordinator for many years and finished her working career at Groshopp Manufacturing in Sioux Center, Iowa, in the quality control department. Sherri was engaged in many hobbies her whole life, from ceramics and tote painting in the 1970’s, to epoxy molding in the 2020’s. Giving away much of what she made.
Sherri is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dave; sons, Nate (Angel) Harry and Jake (Kaye) Harry; grandchildren, Megan and Tommy; and sister, Bev (Ron) Reimer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Jean Eilts.
