Terry Summers lived a life as colorful and unforgettable as he was. Born and raised in Woodbine, Iowa, Terry stepped into adulthood early, leaving high school at a young age to begin creating his own path. His life was defined not by classrooms, but by experience, hard work, and the wisdom that comes from doing.
Terry had a true hands-on spirit. He trained horses with patience and instinct, fished with the kind of peace only nature can offer, and found joy in cooking—where having the right utensil was non-negotiable. He was the kind of person who could create, fix, or improve just about anything he set his mind to. People like that are gift-rooted, capable, and full of stories worth sharing.
His heart, however, found its greatest purpose in love. After two previous marriages, Terry found his soulmate in Donna, the love of his life. Their time together was deeply meaningful, filled with companionship, laughter, and a love that shaped his world. When Donna passed, Terry’s heart never fully healed, and a piece of him went with her.
Terry’s life was not perfect, but it was authentic, rich in lessons, full of grit, passion, and love. Those who knew him will remember his unique spirit, his stories, his talents, and the love he held so dearly.
May he find peace and joy reunited with Donna once again.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Summers along with his wife Linda; his sister, Janice and her husband Dave; and his daughters, Kristina Summers and her two sons, Duran and Dante and Kim Martinez and her husband Isidro’ and her two daughters, Richelle and Sydney.
