Wanda Mae Olson

Larchwood, IA: Wanda Olson, 89, of Larchwood, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society – Canton, South Dakota. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Wanda (Boscaljon) Olson was born November 10, 1931, in Inwood, Iowa to Peter and Winnie (Gerritsen) Boscaljon. She was the second of four daughters. Wanda went to school in Inwood and married Milo Olson on April 28, 1950, on the Olson family farm. Together they farmed near Brandon, South Dakota from 1957 to 1979 and then near Klondike, Iowa from 1979 until they retired.

   Wanda was a long time active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of rural Inwood. She loved to spend time with family, especially her grandkids, Derrick and Samantha. She and Milo were inseparable for many years. She will be greatly missed.

 Wanda is survived by her children, Les (Kathy) Olson of Vermillion, South Dakota, Peggy (Rick) Rang of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Bruce (Brenda) Olson of Brookings, South Dakota; grandchildren, Derrick Rang and Samantha (Colin Shantz) Rang, all of Sioux Falls; and two sisters, Marlis (Stan) Garman of Larchwood, Iowa and Gloria (Russ) Stevig of Apache Junction, Arizona.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo, her parents, and sister, LaVonne Vande Velde. She will be interred next to her beloved husband, Milo, at Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery, rural Inwood.
