Wayne Allen Brown

HAWARDEN, IOWA ~ Wayne Allen Brown, 72, of Hawarden, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Military rites for Wayne will be conducted at a future date.

Wayne Allen Brown was born June 7, 1953, to Francis and Lillian (Lingham) Brown in Sioux City, Iowa, where he attended school in Riverside until he joined the military at the age of 17.

Wayne served our country in the United States Army and later in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam and also in Desert Storm. He was proud of his 20 years of service. He loved telling stories, watching NASCAR, and working in the garage.

Wayne married Norma Jane Girard on December 26, 1970. Together they had 3 children, Lance (Jessica) Brown, Tammy Anderson (Rob Haiar) and Travis Brown (Melissa Zahner). Wayne had 10 grandkids which he loved and adored, Samantha and Greg, Cadence, Avari, Logan, Mikah, Payton, Noah, William, and Hayley, and great grandkids, Asia and Merrick Walton. Wayne was the oldest of 9 kids. His siblings include Deb and Jerry Hale, Cindy and Ed Cottrell, Gary and Cathy Brown, Matt Brown and Daisy McDaniel, Kathy and Rod Reed, Bill and Rose Brown, Lisa and John Dawdy, and Machell Bingen. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and his stepmom, Carol Brown.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Francis Brown, his mother, Lillian Brown, and aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
