Funeral Arrangement Checklist


What to bring to the funeral arrangements conference

The deceased's personal information, including:

  1. Full legal name and social security number
  2. Date and place of birth
  3. Address
  4. Marital Status
  5. Parent's name (including mother's maiden name)
  6. Occupation (majority of working career)
  7. Highest level of education
  8. Marriage (If so, bring DD214 discharge papers)
  9. Obituary information (worked, lived, memberships, hobbies, interests, survivors, etc.)

Funeral or Memorial Service information, including:

  1. Visitation (place, date, and time)
  2. Funeral or Memorial Service (place, date, and time)
  3. Clergy officiating
  4. Music (congregational hymns, special music, organist, vocalists, etc.)
  5. Pallbearers and/or Honorary Pallbearers
  6. Luncheon (what to be served and how many people expected)
  7. Cemetery (name of cemetery and burial before or after the service)

Full Clothing, including: socks and undergarments (Rule of thumb is everything but shoes)

  1. Clothing that is not sheer, has a high neckline and longer sleeves is preferred
  2. If you choose to bring jewelry, it can be removed prior to burial or left with the deceased


  1. Recent photo for obituary, newspaper notices, and hairdresser
  2. Optional: Bring up to 75 photos for a celebration of life video tribute
