Jean Carol Kock, daughter of Walter and Alvira (Klein) Katt, was born October 10, 1928, at the family farm near Inwood, Iowa. Jean graduated from Inwood High School and then went on to attend beauty school. Jean was united in marriage with Ralph Kock on June 11, 1950, at Alvord, Iowa. The couple made their home on the Kock family farm near Inwood where Ralph farmed, and Jean was the quintessential farmwife. Jean and Ralph were blessed with 66 years of marriage until Ralph’s death on December 5, 2016.

Jean loved her family. Whether she was cooking her amazing food, entertaining on the 4th of July, or sneaking the grandkids back into Iowa after buying fireworks in South Dakota, Jean cherished time with her family. She also looked forward to her weekly card games with her sisters and friends. In addition to being a lifetime resident of Inwood, Jean was also a longstanding member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Inwood.

Jean is survived by her 4 children, Randy (Betty) Kock of Inwood, Sue (Tony) Wilhelm of Toddville, Iowa, Roxane (Jim) McCasland of Farmington, New Mexico, and Scott (Pam) Kock of Inwood; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Van Roekel, Karen (Doug) Wiggins, and Kathleen (Gary) Dieren; brother, Jim (Lynn) Katt; and sister-in-law, Eileen Venis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alvira Katt; husband, Ralph; 2 sisters, Dorothy Ter Wee and Elaine Osvog; and 3 brothers, Don Katt, Dale Katt, and Bill Katt.
